With a background in Architectural Draughting and many years in advertising, picking up a paint brush seemed a natural transition to retirement. A year spent doing a refresher art course was stimulating and inspiring as acrylic colours on canvas became paintings. Developing a distinct style using layers of paint and large brush strokes, created land and seascapes that were both bold and colourful. Painting in large format mostly 1 x 1 metre or larger, the works catch the eye and make a statement.
Paintings have been exhibited in many galleries through out New Zealand and have gone as far afield as Australia, the USA and Korea. They complement modern décor in homes, offices and lodges. These days Ro prefers to show her art at her studio in Raglan.
Ro is registered with Creative NZ as a working artist and lives in Raglan, painting whenever she can.
